KYB 565043 MonoMax Heavy-Duty Gas Shock
The KYB MonoMax is the ultimate heavy-duty shock absorber designed specifically for trucks, SUVs, and vehicles that perform “real work.” If you frequently tow trailers, haul heavy loads, or venture off-road, the MonoMax provides the high-pressure stability and durability required to maintain control under stress.
Unlike standard twin-tube shocks, the MonoMax features a large-bore monotube design that separates the gas and oil chambers. This prevents aeration (foaming) and ensures fade-free performance even during continuous, high-intensity use on rough terrain.
Key Features
Heavy-Duty Monotube Design: Provides significantly more handling and control than standard shocks, making it ideal for high-center-of-gravity vehicles.
Automatic Adjustment: The multi-stage valve design automatically adjusts to changing road conditions, providing a firm ride when loaded and a smoother response on flat pavement.
Fade-Free Performance: The high-pressure nitrogen gas charge keeps the oil from foaming, ensuring consistent damping power during long hauls or off-road excursions.
Zinc-Coated Steel Piston Ring: A work-ready component designed to maintain a positive seal under extreme temperatures and pressures.
Off-Road Protection: Includes a protective rubber dust boot to keep dirt and debris away from the highly polished piston rod, extending the life of the seals.

Installation & Safety
Because the MonoMax is a high-pressure nitrogen-charged shock, it is naturally compressed and held by a shipping strap. Take care when cutting the strap during installation, as the shock will expand with significant force.
