nVent ERICO Cadweld Cathodic Welding Material (20-Pack)
The nVent ERICO Cadweld Welding Material is a specialized, high-quality mixture designed primarily for cathodic protection applications. It provides an efficient and permanent molecular bond when joining copper cables to steel or stainless steel surfaces, ensuring long-term electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance.
This material is specifically formulated for the cathodic industry, where reliable connections are critical for protecting underground or submerged metallic structures.
Key Features
High-Quality Mixture: Consists mainly of copper oxide and aluminum, engineered to produce a high-copper-content weld metal for superior conductivity.
Cathodic Protection Focused: Optimized for the unique requirements of cathodic protection, particularly for cable-to-steel or cable-to-stainless steel connections.
Integrated Tube Design: Each plastic tube is conveniently color-coded with a green cap. The welding material is located at the top of the tube, while the starting material is at the bottom for easy application.
Safe & Stable: The mixture is non-explosive and is not subject to spontaneous ignition, making it safe for transport and on-site storage.
Complete Kit Components: The tubes are packaged in plastic boxes that include the necessary metal disks. Each individual welded connection requires exactly one disk.
Permanent Connection: Creates an exothermic weld that will not loosen or corrode over time, unlike mechanical pressure connectors.

Application Instructions
Identify Connection: Determine the specific Cadweld connection type (e.g., VS, VB, or HA) to ensure you have the correct mold and material size.
Clean Surfaces: Thoroughly clean the cable and the steel surface to remove moisture, rust, or debris.
Insert Disk: Place the metal disk at the bottom of the mold crucible.
Add Material: Pour the welding material into the mold, followed by the starting powder.
Ignite: Use a Cadweld T-320 flint igniter to start the exothermic reaction.
