Petro-Pit 420-SYNBLOC: Synthetic Ester Filtration Cartridge
The Petro-Pit 420-SYNBLOC is a specialized, patented filtration system designed specifically for the drainage of rainwater from retention tanks, bunds, and concrete pits. Unlike standard hydrocarbon filters, this “SYNBLOC” range is engineered to trap synthetic esters (such as MIDEL 7131 or ENVIROTEMP 360), preventing environmental ground contamination.
Key Performance Features
Self-Locking Technology: In the event of a significant hydrocarbon spill, the internal components react instantly to form a solid plug. This “passive” system blocks all fluid discharge without needing electrical power or mechanical moving parts.
Specialized Filtration: Uses a unique mix of oleophilic and hydrophobic polymer components specifically tuned to trap synthetic oils that standard filters might miss.
Versatile Installation: Designed for outdoor use in flexible, metallic, or concrete tanks. It can be installed horizontally or at a slight incline in the direction of flow.
High Durability: Constructed from heavy-duty PVC to ensure long-term resistance to weather and chemical exposure.

Maintenance & Safety Tip
Replacement Schedule: To maintain optimal drainage performance, the cartridge should be replaced every 1 to 3 years. If the filter has “locked” due to an oil spill, it must be replaced immediately as it will no longer allow rainwater to pass through.
