Cisco UCS B200 M5 Blade Server
The Cisco UCS B200 M5 is a high-density, half-width blade server designed to deliver exceptional performance and versatility for data centers. It is the “workhorse” of the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), engineered to handle a wide range of workloads—from standard IT and web infrastructure to high-demand applications like SAP HANA, Oracle databases, and VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).
By fitting up to eight of these blades into a single 6U Cisco UCS 5108 Chassis, organizations can achieve massive compute density while simplifying management through Cisco UCS Manager or Cisco Intersight.
Condition: Base Configuration (Barebone)
⚠️ Hardware Note: This is a base chassis unit. To be functional, it requires the addition of compatible CPUs, RAM, and mezzanine cards.
NO CPU: Includes heatsinks and blanking panels only.
NO RAM: All 24 DIMM slots are empty.
NO HDD/SSD: Both 2.5″ SFF drive bays are empty (includes blanking panels).
NO Mezzanine Cards: Rear I/O and front storage/GPU slots are empty.
Key Performance Features
Dual-Socket Power: Supports up to two Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (1st or 2nd Generation) with up to 28 cores per CPU.
Massive Memory Capacity: Features 24 DIMM slots supporting up to 3 TB of DDR4 memory and Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory.
High-Speed I/O: Capable of up to 80 Gbps of total I/O throughput when configured with Cisco Virtual Interface Cards (VICs).
Flexible Storage: Includes two front-access, hot-swappable SFF (2.5″) drive bays that support HDD, SSD, or NVMe.
GPU Ready: Unique for a half-width blade, it can support up to two GPUs (via mezzanine cards), ideal for AI inference and VDI.

Configuration Note
Stateless Computing: This server is designed to be “stateless.” By using Cisco UCS Manager, you can apply a “Service Profile” to the hardware. If a blade fails, you can simply slide in a new one, apply the profile, and it will inherit the identity (MAC addresses, WWNs, firmware versions) of the old server instantly.
